I don't know how anyone could not be interested in the Presidential & VP election this year. We had about 8 yrs of hell with President Bush, a war going on for 7 years with hardly any improvement, & an economic crisis that will & is crippling our nation. This is effecting everyone, from poor class to high class. I am speechless when it comes to people not in the slightest bit interested in voting. What the fuck? Its your right, this effects your sons, daughters & grandchildrens lives. You're too wrapped up in ya personal lives to realize that most of these issues in your personal lives are the result of the problems we are facing!!!!
The debate with the VP's Biden & Palin was great. Biden did his thing, he was on his money & was audible.. He had a lot of facts that crushed John McCain. Palin pissed me off, if you lived w/ me you would have thought I was watching a football game the way I was cursing the Tv out. Palin answered every question with a big smile on her face, even as she talked about the war in iraq, the economical issues etc. Biden won in my eyes.
VOTE OR DIE !

Competition is 'nada'
So I made a come-back. I got a job in less then two weeks after I lost my job at the office in Queens. I'm lucky I'm in the medical field, or I'd be fucked the way the economy is going. Vote Bama baby!
So I'm working on the UWS. I tell you, I really missed the city. I really love the UWS neighborhood. Its a real family oriented community. The patients are beyond awesome, & my co workers are great. I really appreciate the way of life there, & it helps that they are all democrats with open-minds. They are all genuinely good people. Nobody is plagued with stereotypes, racisim or mis-conceptions. :)
Anyway, I'm on the train headin' to work. TTYL

Get Money Mentality

That "Get Money" mentality kicking in again. You never forget to realize how important money is. Until you are un-employed and basically fucked. I mean, THANK GOD I don't have a family to support, I really just gotta worry about myself. But damn, its only been a week and I've broken down a few times.
Keep ya head up....

The Buddhist Bible

I was raised Catholic. I even went to religious instruction. I did everything that was required of me. But in the back of my head, things were never registering. I really can't honestly say that I ever understood the whole story about Jesus being the son of God and him dying for us on the cross because of our sins and so forth. But it seems as though the country that we live in is very committed to this guy called God. I mean its all over, its pounded into our heads, everywhere we turn there is a bible in a draw in a hotel room, there's a cross behind the judge in a court house. We must place a hand on the bible to swear in, we must stand at alligence at any sporting event and declare that we stand under God. Man... even our money has God printed on it. "In God We Trust".. As I get older and wiser, and not forced to attend these religion classes, I am pushed further and further away from the only religion I knew.
In 2006, I reached a turning point. My life as I knew it was completely flipped upside down. I couldn't figure out how to escape the reality that was consuming my breaths. I had no where to run, and no where to hide. I searched for friends/family anything that I thought would help me pull from what ever was tugging me further into a spiral that would only devour me whole if I didn't climb out. Friends and Family can show compassion, they can hug and tell you kind words, but I've learned only one person can bring you out of harms way and that is yourself. I turned to Buddhism. It just drawn me to its culture. I started with a Dalai Lama book, one of those books that promote self-help. "How to stop suffering, How to be Happy, How to become Enlightened". Isn't that word "Enlighten" sound so powerful? Even with me typing it sends shivers down my spine. Man how bad I wanted to reach that state. The Dalai Lama said it was a state of mind when you were completely happy with everything around you. As soon as I hit the book, I was consumed. This book along with the meditation that they encouraged not only suppressed the suffering but it made me realize, I am the controller of my own destiny, of my own emotion, and best of all of my own insanity. Instantly as I read through more and more books by the Dalai Lama the situation that left me remorseful, depressed, lonely and plain ol suffering gave me the knowledge and confidence to knock into that part of the brain, I never knew exisisted, and for that I am thankful.
Buddhism isn't like other religions. I wouldn't even want to call it a religion, this is more of a way of thinking a culture and a better understanding of life and yourself. I am NOT in any-shape degrading the Christianity faith, nor am I trying to convert you, I am only telling you how Buddhism helped me as a person, and how others should open up their minds and allow themselves to discover what is hidden deep within.
"But the Buddha nowhere claims to be anything more than a human being" "He does not profess to bring a revelation from a supernatural source. He does not proclaim himself a saviour who will take upon himself the sins of those that follow hi,. He professes no more than to teach men the way by which they can liberate themselves as he has liberated himself. He distinctly tells us that every one must bear the burden of his own sins, that every man must be the fabricator of his own salvation, that not even A GOD can do for man what self-help in the form of self-conquest can self-emancipation can accomplish" {Dharmapada, a collection of verses attributed to the Blessed Sakyamuni)"
"The Buddha's mind is his absolutely great compassion for all beings"

Lil Wayne Sucks (The Movement)
Lil Wayne is the worst "rapper" ever to hit radio stations.
Granted before Lil Wayne hit main-stream and actually wrote down his raps
He has some "crack" metaphors. Underground Lil Wayne didn't let shit get to his head...Now that Lil Wayne hit main-stream radio,
he's been tormenting real Hip Hop heads with his
sloppy ass rhymes... To quote a few..
"Get on my level you can't get on my level
You will need a space shuttle or a ladder thus forever"
First of all that's not even proper grammar...That's pretty much all I have to say about that one..
"However I'm better if not now then never
Don't you ever fix your lips unless you 'bout to suck my dick bitch
Swallow my words, taste my thoughts
And if it's too nasty, spit it back at me
Two more inches I'da been in that casket
According to the doctor I could've died in traffic"
I'm sorry...What? What does you swallowing my nut have to do with dying in traffic?
"Bounce right back on them bitches like Magic
Abracadabra I'm up like Viagra
I should do this shit for my +click+ like +Adam Sandler+
I control hip hop and I'ma keep it on my channel"
If you control Hip Hop, then there is seriously something wrong with my ears..The only thing you got going for you is your beats, (which you don't even make)..So in reality, you really are wack, and your only semi-cool because sixteen year olds, drool over your catchy lyrics. Your lyrics are so simplistic that any feeble minded person can understand them. Real Hip Hop requires dissection in which you have to repeatedly listen to a track to fully understand its meaning. I find myself saying 'WHAT?!" after listening to your lyrics out of pure disgust.
I'm done...

Boxing - Best Cardio
I attend Brotherhood Boxing Club 3x a week, where I work on my core, legs, arms and skills. With semi-private training, I get one on one training including sparring and working the bag hard. I love it, I've already seen an improvement in my weight, my arms and my mind. When I leave the club, I feel great. The amounts of sweat I shed, I make sure I keep myself hydrated and drinking plenty of water and my new favorite "Propel".
I started out at 170lbs and with a proper diet and working out I lost 9lbs!!
If your in Brooklyn or Queens and want to work out in a great authentic boxing club featured on USABOXINGMETRO
Mention my name (Jennifer M.)
